Annual Reduction

Based on a proven ability to handle large and complex systems contracts— and a consistently "excellent" supplier rating—WESCO was selected to supply the system-wide electrical products and materials procured through distribution to Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (Con Edison) and two of its regulated utilities, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. The new five-year contract, valued between $6 and $9 million for the first year, allows WESCO to demonstrate its full capabilities in continued system improvements and cost reductions. It is part of a larger Con Edison program, consolidating more than 7,000 contracts with over 400 suppliers, intending to reduce overall transaction costs by as much as $500,000 annually.
