Utility Grade

Commercial building requirements for IoT and always-on connectivity starts with a future-ready infrastructure solution.

Utility Grade Infrastructure (UTG) is a technology assurance program and rating system that measures beyond standards performance, providing guaranteed results to support building subsystems, technologies and applications. Utility Grade Infrastructure validates additional performance within existing 23AWG cabling systems, providing increased bandwidth, advanced power delivery with extended distance capabilities and unlimited bundling.

Futuristic building

Designed for Today,
Built for Tomorrow

For IoT requirements, as well as entire commercial building projects that demand a high performance infrastructure, UTG provides validated solutions to deliver what’s needed to maintain an always-on, converged network.

Proof in Performance: Testing UTG

Global assurance through UL Verification and Fluke field test limits and support from certified integrators for a manufacturer extended warranty.

Foundational for IoT and a Common Platform
Across the Entire Building

Future-Ready Cable Infrastructure

Core to the program are UTG-rated cabling solutions from world-class manufacturers.

Advanced Power Delivery

UTG addresses advanced power delivery through definitive testing of UTG-rated cabling solutions. These UL verified solutions include design guidance as well as cable bundling recommendations to support more power over ethernet (PoE) applications.

Extended Distance

For distances where even UTG copper cannot reach, optical fiber can be utilized. UTG optical fiber is used for high data rate applications that operate beyond 100 meters/328 feet to complement a full UTG solution.
