A midwest investor-owned utility's metering infrastructure was 20 years old. They had a 2-1/2 year timeline to upgrade their system and replace all their meters. Given the volume of work, they needed an experienced team working alongside them.
Wesco managed the customer’s inventory levels, quality control, material staging, reporting and weekly material releases to crews for the project. Additionally, Wesco managed the hiring, onboarding and training of more than 40 associates for the utility in support of the project.
Wesco provided the customer with real-time information on all meter installs and reassurance that work was completed on time and to the desired standards. Wesco's proprietary software program granted the utility full transparency into the installation progress with the ability to validate data, track inventory and perform quality audits remotely. This resulted in reduced labor costs and enhanced visibility of material usage.
